Nutrition Philosophies
Food should not be stressful.
No matter what stage of life you are in, food should be simple, easy, and stress free. At Steady State Nutrition we believe that fueling yourself is more than coming up with a perfect meal plan, but instead a process in understanding your personal nutrition needs and connecting back to your body. Through Intuitive Eating philosophies, your dietitian will help you rebuild your relationship with food and help you identify the mental and physical barriers that have been holding you back.
Whether you struggle with over eating, restriction, a current or reappearing eating disorder, or you simply want to have a better understanding of your nutritional needs, Steady State can help support you in that journey.
We are a Health at Every Size (HAES) aligned practice, meaning we believe in a non-weight centered approach to nutrition. Instead of focusing on the scale to determine your success, your dietitian will help you understand all of the factors that impact your physical health and help you find the weight that your body is the most happy and healthy. We work to unpack the beliefs tied in diet culture and improve the relationship with your body to a neutral and honoring place.
If you are looking to have consistency in your diet, peace in your body, and overall be in a Steady State with your health, you are in the right place.

About:
Nutrition has always been a central part of my entire life, but became a large passion for me in high school as I prepared to be a college athlete. After starting rowing in college, disordered eating quickly affected my ability to perform, and watching my teammates also struggle with body image and food made me realize that sports nutrition is about so much more than just eating protein. Now, after years of being an eating disorder dietitian, I fully understand the challenges that come with navigating body changes, how hard it can be to prioritize both physical and mental health, and how confusing and frustrating it is to make food work for you, and not the other way around.
Iām passionate about helping people heal their relationship with food, and guiding them toward stress-free, joyful eating, no matter where they are in their journey. I have a particular interest and passion for working with queer/LGBTQ+ folks, current or former athletes, or anyone who is uncertain, but motivated, to make long term changes and not only looking for "quick fixes".
I believe that close relationships between clients and providers are critical to facilitating meaningful change, so I spend a lot of time getting to know you and your unique struggles and circumstances. I love celebrating client wins and sympathizing with their losses as we are on this journey together as partners.
